I entered the room, the surrounding was covered in silence and everyone was busy doing something. I took a glance of some of them and I knew it was a sudden exam.

On whiteboard, something was written. I assumed it was a password to use the exam application. I was right!
It’s all going well until the exam finished counting my score and I closed it. Then some of my classmates raising their hands, reporting that they’d finished so I followed… and shockingly, my score couldnt be recorded because I closed it. I wasnt told about this!! There’s some leftover file from my exam that I thought would help but the lecturer said it couldnt be used, no way to open it (WTH?!) and I didnt get a chance to redo it!!! I felt stupid being played around like this.
She could’ve told me if it’s really important!! I deserved the right to know!! and it’s not like I broke any rules.

It’s sad how some lecturers would just dropped his/her own student to HELL instead of inspiring them, giving them a direction to a bright future…
Life’s been going right or so I thought with the change for a new term but it’s just another person coming into my life to be added to my “bitches list”. Not to mention she is a religious one… She’s a REAL GOOD example of a religious person. Even God would forgive his own Sons and Daughters and gives them another chance.

At least it’s just one… the rest was not bad at all and some people who came later than me got saved because of my carelessness and sacrifice…
Guess I began to understand why there are people out there hurting each other without feeling guilty.
Life’s a bitch, but it’s your choice to follow your heart to remain sane or to be a bitch to get back at it.

EDITED : but no matter what, there’s always those out there with worse situation… and then you’ll realize you’re still lucky. Life is worth doing YOUR BEST for when you know You’ll Never Walk Alone!!

What I’m trying to say is… in this 2nd semester, I met many new instructors which most are unconvicing… I used to spend most of my life complaining so I’m pretty sure about it. At least as I grow up, I realize I cant waste time on complaining alone, I gotta take what I can get from these misfortunes. Back to topic, the new instructors clearly are smart!! but they are not suited to teach. Well, if more than half students dont understandand cant enjoy the materials given, you are supposed to rethink about the way you teach except if you are plannin on being a half-assed-instructor… and I guess most of them are the latter.
First Lesson : gotta do my homework in looking up the information about who will be teaching what subject before I take it! better get through the subject with bad score rather than getting a super high score but left clueless about the subject

2nd one… confidence. I guess this is really important, whether you are going to convince your opponents, not only if you plan on charming girls There’s one who got none, it shows from the way he teaches. He says he used to stay in America, but when he teaches, he uses complicated terms, and when he translated it… he did it wrong… and it clearly shows on his face, worse… he does it often. He must have not done his homework in reviewing the materials before he presented it to us.
Second Lesson : this is important for presentation… failing to prepare means preparing to fail. By practicing enough we build up enough confidence and we can convince people that we right, so they can be sure they dont waste their time listening to our speeches

3rd one… love and interaction. LOVE??!! Yeah… it sounds cliche, but I guess everything in this world… if you want it to go well, it must be based on Love
I read an artice once, which says people become more interested in you as you are in them. Some instructors just come, keep blabbering while students are yawning, sneakily checking facebook from their mobile and keep hoping for the time to pass quickly…. and those instructors just end the class session with another short speech. From the students reaction, you can tell that those instructors are boring people. It’s sad to teach for 10 years and be forgotten right when you dont teach that certain class anymore. You fail to do your job, and you may fail as a human by wasting your time doing things nobody care Actually I was inspired to write the third problem when I finished watching a dorama where a teacher is regretting his being He teaches and nobody cares… and it all changes when he starts paying attention and begins to love his students. The students start loving him, and get motivated to learn from him.

It’s not like things in dorama doesnt happen if that’s what you think. It does! I’ve got a killer instructor once. He transparently corrected our mistakes in front of everyone with the way you’ll never like. He embarassed you so… with his words, but you couldnt get back at him because he was just out of your reach. Style? Brain? Charisma? He got em all But as we went on with our major, we knew he only did that so that we tried to change… so we wouldnt be embarrased anymore. As time passed, the instructor still looked unfriendly but deep inside, everyone loved him. It’s a true story.
Third Lesson : love your job and people who are part of them. They make you who you are and make your job becomes more worthwhile. People are measured by what they do, if you are fail at whatever it is, well… consider you fail to become anybody

Aside from that, I still love English, Basdat, and Aljabar They’re still challenging and I just cant miss any of them. That Risal guy looks like he is like any of other boring instructor, but he is actually different. At least recently I noticed he tried to slow down and he used simpler terms often… he makes the class seems fun too by sharing a piece of his mind Basdat is fun as HELL… poenten becomes harder and challenging to get, yet it makes it seems worthwhile!

Guess appreciating what life throws at you is not bad at all. Makes you less stressful and happier. It may even be part of destiny’s play. What I truly need to make my DREAMS COME TRUE!!

English is COOL!! wish we could’ve done more though. We’ve gone through our first presentation… it’s so short and our class ended just like that. I did bad so I wanted to do morebut ahh well… there’s still another chance, and with an instructor like Mimi… class will be worth to look forward to.

I never really think highly of ASDOS (instructor’s assistant)On the 1st semester, we had 2 girls as ASDOS. I had to play nice with them to get them to assist me. They’re also in charge of giving score to each of our performance. It was so-so my experience with female ASDOS.

For web programming, we had Ko Mike assisting us. He’s one nice guy, TOO NICE I think. People person is what’s best to describe him. I thought I was always good with web programming but I came to realise that I was wrong right on 2nd semester

A new ASDOS was introduced to us, he is in charge of PBO practice class. He should be a little older than us but he is ONE SOB ASSHOLE!!I’ve had two classes with him up till now, but none of it really helped me get a better understanding of the materials. To make things worse, he likes to SHOW OFF and we never realised that we had the disadvantages until it’s over. Last week, this guy gave us two normal exercises which were easy, and a special exercise which was not supposed to be hard but we COULDNT DO IT because we werent taught the formula yet. We just realised after he broke the answers to us. We requested the answer because we wanted to learn but he didnt want to give it to us. WTH??!! He said we had to look for it ourselves. YEAH RIGHT!! and it happened again this week… knowing we couldnt solve new exercises, he said it’s better he didnt give another exercise because we’d be at disadvantages with low scores, but even so… he gave us QUIZ!! what’s the difference here?? It’d only lower the class standards!! If he realised we were not up to it yet, he should’ve given a better explanation or make sure we can do it before he tested us.

I.T. in Maranatha is doomed if this keeps up. Students dont understand and yet they’re given high scores… it happened to me in JARKOM class. I was doing pretty good before UTS but I did beyond pathetic after that and yet… I was given better score than my friend who was WAY WAY better than me on this subject. I even got a whopping 80 for my UAS score eventhough I didnt understand any of itI bet the instructor lost our work and had to give the score randomly. It took him too long to give us our result.

Back to POB ASDOS… he’s like an opposite of Ko Mike, with him in charge… I didnt really understand what was discussed, the way he explaining is confusing and he is arrogant and hateful, but with Ko Mike… everything is a breeze. He taught us patiently and kindly. Now that I think about it, I could pass Web Prog with flying colours thanks to him!! If he wasnt around… I dunno if I could like the class because I’m sure I’d hate the class because I wont really understand it as better with him around.

Some of us have given up on this POB subject because of this boring ASDOS who only wants respect that he’ll never get. Sadly, some of us who were very enthusiastic during Web Prog are losing hope and not interested in the subject anymore. I hope there’s still any book in the library that could help Programming is fun and it’d be a waste to let this guy ruin the fun.

Fured sensei broke the old-school style by introducing the poenten system and…
Mimi is….. well… I had hoped for a foreign instructor who never came in the end but at least Mimi is WAY WAY WAY BETTER than the previous instructorIndonesian and Chinese are the easiest to speak English with.. and she speaks fluently and clear!! At least I’ll be able to improve on my favorite subject!

Why do the girls hardly give any chocolate to guy? Isn’t that the purpose of this so-called valentine day? If only it’s like in Japan *sigh* drama in life…
It bugs me every february… Being so picky, maybe I’ll have to continue fighting with J-Idols and anime girls in mind…

Anyway, Bandung is back! It was famous for its cool weather but since I came here, from October, it’s been nothing but hot all day except night! Starting from January, it feels like Spring has come! YAYY!!
Dunno if this is good or not, it makes everyone lazy eventhough we’re doing SP, a short and challenging semester for 3 weeks. It can get frustating sometimes, especially because each exam comes within a week.

So far the hardest one is Indonesia language. This is the first I feel this way, analyzing each and every sentence can really get tiring but fun! The instructor is an interesting lady as well! She teaches well!

The best would be ETIKA. M S Sensei is back!! He is one of the BEST instructor out there! Everyone thinks so as well. He teaches enthutiastically and he inspires us to think, think and be ourself. No one teaches better than him I think!… but those S1 guys… I just hope they would go to hell or something. Ethics should change the way you behave naturally, but they just come, make noise, and then go back as soon as they get the chance. I can see it in M S Sensei eyes that he is disappointed. DAMN THEM!!

Then DIKWAR, an MK that I think is useless and not important at all. Even from the reference book, you can feel that the writer doesnt really think much of this DIKWAR. The instructor? I dunno, he speaks bad, not clear at all eventhough he uses mic. I slept once in his class because I couldnt take it anymore. Sitting there not understanding a single thing he said. It’s easier to guess what a 2 year old kids speak of. Just glad that the exam was nothing. It mostly requires you to think and use your logic. Phewww….

Just one more week to go! It is very quiet now, I just cant wait for the 2nd semester!! I need to make sweet memories here before I finally graduate!! Ishokenmei yareba, nandemo dekiru!!!

As I was working with my web project, a few friends asked me for advice, so I stopped by their place and I was ashamed.
They’re excited about working with theirs, and theirs were also cooler than mine with all that javascript.
That got me thinking of Deby’s web that you showed me the other day Ko!
This must not go on, it would be embarrassing to present my web like this.. or so I thought. I went and did a little browsing on some web design, as I was on it, some ideas came up, and I kept going on and on because this idea really demanded my focus to the end, I had to make this idea became real! Along the way, another ideas came up and I kept going, though I was thinking it should be enough, but then some friends called, and seeing their enthusiasm, I decided to go on.

At last minute, Umar said we need to burn the datas to be submitted to you on the H day… everyone didnt know and rushed to get it done. I had mine done on nearby shop I’ve never been before, and I could tell the guy who was working there didnt really know about this cd burning thing. Let me know if the cd doesnt work Ko, I never got a chance to check it >__<…

On the H day, I was quite satisfied getting good reactions from the audience. My sacrifices paid off and it got me realized one thing. It really feels great when you give it your all in doing things that you like, at least you can be proud of it!! Though because of the pressure (it always makes one nervous to do presentation in front of people), I didnt get to show all of my work.

Tomorrow will be web prog theory exam. I really hope I can do as well as I did before, though it was possible because I like web programming, html part… but I still can't get to like javascript part. It's still not that familiar. All we get to do is making a simple javascript that looks like wont be useful, and I still can't make one javascript without looking at some examples. I hope we'll be able to make cool javascript someday, like ones people giving for free on the net!

It was quite refreshing, the materials were easier to understand… It was far far easier than the explanation by Mr Eric, heheh…

The main event would be the day after tomorrow, web presentation!! Everyone is putting their effort in making this… I know, because I did it with them as well. Can’t wait for the H day… heheh…

It’d be better if you give present to the top three website that you or our classmate think cool!! That should boost our spirit to do better, to welcome the exam! not a bad idea, eh Ko?

Well, I’m almost finished myself. Took myself to stay up 3 nights to almost finish the web. I should be able to complete it tomorrow. Gotta do my best!!

for this week, we learned about New Array and stuff
Honestly, when the senior passing out the questionairre paper, I had a lot of things like review in my mind, about all the instructors in Maranatha
and when it comes to you Ko, and your assistant… you guys are one of the best there
your explanation is way way easier to understand than any instructors out there,
your class is always fun, and you give us freedom to try what we think best,
Ko Michael is always there to help us out, and he is doing a very good job giving us advice, hints and other things…

There are some of instructors out there that teach half-hearted, the assistant is even worse,
though they are about the same age as us, they do a horrible job
Once, I ask question about things I was clueless about and I was told to not always hope for an answer, have to solve it myself, don’t be a spoiled kid… What the HECK? I wouldnt ask if I knew…. even worse is the assistant was a girl…. haha…

One more week before we can take it easy…
can’t wait for the presentation, it should be enjoyable… looking forward to it!!

Start with Mr. Eric’s class… we got to do more practicing I understood a little bit of this week’s material. I just hoped Mr. E would teach like Ko F. Going with theories, and example then practice. I’m sure everyone feels the same.

Then Ko F’s class… It’s weird enough to be given many exercises that you think they’re confusing, but you’re able to do it Just what is a javascript?… how many commands or tags should I know to wash this uneasiness feeling?
Well… at least it’s better than last week. I can’t wait to finish this javascript session and move to the real JAVA.

Just bring all exercises ON and let’s get this over with

P.S. didn’t really mean for you to throw all exercises to us at once Ko, that quote was just a figure of speech, haha… well, you know… to make one looks cool
